It's been discussed for quite some time, and I have to say that "pre golfing" Should Be limited To Once A Year. A Big part of it is because it's Just Not Fair when you can Golf With Nicer Weather by "pre golfing" when the other team showing up during league play may golf in a lot Crappier Weather. Wet Greens alone can really slow down ones Putts and a lot more problems exist even in the fairways during inclement weather. If you use your one "pre golf", the next time 'Get A Sub To Golf With You'. A friend or acquaintance to join you and sub for your partner who can't make it. If that can't be made, a Loss for that week must be issued. When you do use your "pre golf" I must ask you let me know beforehand and you tell Bryce, Jay or Tony at the Clubhouse that this is happening. Your card must be turned in and added to our league binder as well. Thanks for your patience and understanding to this league rule. We Have Three Additional Golfers, One and a Half Teams On a Waiting List This Year. Waiting are Jesse Paskett & friend along with Garrett Blumenthal The 'Closest To' For Week 1 Went To ? of Team ?... The 'Closest To' For Week 2 Went To ? of Team ?... Team Players & Handicaps - Hdcp's Will Be Re-Adjusted Numerous Times Throughout The Year... Jimmy Brown Took On An Improved Scoring System For Hdcp's. Thank You Mr, Brown! |

( Ben H. & Bradon M. ) 0 - 0 - 0 Team 15. ( Ryan & Mitch ) 0 - 1 - 0 Match Play Rules - Scoring Explained A round in match play golf will see two golfers competing head to head against each other. Golfers here are trying to win (or not lose) more holes than their opponent. 30 points are played for in a given round. 15 points per match and broken down by 9 points available because that's how many holes we play every monday. An additional 6 points for the winner of that round. Each Match is Based on the 2 better golfers playing each other ( Based on HDCP's ) and the two remaining golfers play each other. Simple, Right? Lowest score on that hole gets the point based on hdcp's. And ties do happen. Again, scoring is easy, the best/lowest hdcp's from each team play against each other and the two remaining golfers play against each other. All Depending on the HDCP's could one golfer receive strokes on each or any of the holes. If a stroke is being given, it gets added to the toughest hole for that round. There may not be any strokes given and the golfers play against each other. You write your scores down - whoever is better on the hole gets one point. Let's say both simply shoot par, then they split the one point for the hole, a half a point each. Then the 9 holes are played, there are 9 points available there, and depending on each hole, win, lose or tie gets added up. 9 - 0 or 8 - 1 or 7 - 2 , 6 - 3, 5 - 4, etc. At the end of the round, the scores are added up, minus the hdcp and you get the total. The winner receives 6 points or they split it 3 - 3. There's a total of 15 per round per match, times 2 because of lets say Mark was playing Brian and you were playing Anthony. There's another 15 points there. A total of 30 points per round. I will try to be on course the first full weeks to answer your questions concerning scoring and the filling out of the score cards.
